Representatives of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention‘s (CDC) autonomous vaccine advisory panel expressed frustration Monday with the White House strategy to start rolling out Covid-19 boosters next month this year, arguing the notice got ahead of federal regulators and could aggravate vaccine hesitancy.
The Biden administration’s strategy, which they announced earlier this month, is contingent upon FDA considering boosters safe and potent and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention suggesting their use. Still, some Center for disease control and prevention committee representatives made it clear that they were vexed that the notice came before federal regulators and scientists officially announced booster doses.
