The state of California will need proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test to attend indoor functions of 1,000 or more individuals starting next month.

The fresh rules will take effect from 20th September 2021. They replace current rules that call for coronavirus vaccine verification or a negative test for events with 5,000 or more people, according to guidance from the California Department of Public Health.

These new guidelines apply to events like sports games, concerts, and parades.

A negative coronavirus test must be taken within 72 hours of the function’s start to be accepted. The testing prerequisite includes people who can’t get a vaccine, such as children under 12.

Also, self-attestation will no longer be accepted to authenticate vaccine status. Attendees will have to submit some form of verification, such as their QR code, vaccine card, or a photo of their vaccine card.
