Let’s understand how GENESIS Fertility and Reproductive Medicine is revolutionizing fertility care through personalized, advanced treatments and compassionate support!

Can you tell us about your professional journey in the field of reproductive medicine and what inspired you to pursue this career path?

Even before I became a doctor, reproductive medicine, especially at the stage of conception and implantation, has always been mysterious and exciting for me. The immense curiosity this produces in me combined with how I enjoy working with the patients is what motivated me to go into reproductive medicine.

Could you provide insights into the mission and vision of your reproductive medicine center and how they guide the services you offer?

GENESIS Fertility and Reproductive Medicine’s goal is to provide the best evidence-based and compassionate fertility treatment to help each patient achieve their individual reproductive goals. Furthermore, the diverse background and experience of our staff enable us to serve the extremely varied population of New York City.

What do you think sets your center apart from others in terms of the quality of care and patient outcomes?

We set ourselves apart in our more personal approach to patients and the bonds we form with them. This means that we don’t seek to put patients in a rigid treatment scheme – we see what their goals are, we give the best evidence-based recommendation, and then we see how to make patient goals and our recommendations align optimally. This also means that we aim to be transparent at every stage.

Can you discuss any specialized services or programs that your center offers to address the diverse needs of patients seeking fertility treatments?

We offer the full spectrum of reproductive medicine services spanning infertility treatments like intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in-vitro fertilization (IVF), options to optimize natural fertility, and reproductive surgery for uterine abnormalities, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids. We also offer services in the major languages spoken in New York City and also have expertise in the nuances of Jewish law and fertility treatment.

What role does technology play in enhancing the services and treatment options offered at your reproductive medicine center?

It’s incorporated to make the patient experience and our clinical outcomes as successful as possible. Whether it is time-lapse morphology for embryo development or using artificial intelligence tools to optimize IVF decision making, we are at the forefront of technology in reproductive medicine.

How does your center prioritize patient comfort, emotional support, and overall well-being throughout the treatment process?

At the same level of achieving the best clinical results, patient well-being and support are prioritized to the utmost. We do this by being exceptionally available to our patients for questions and educating them at every stage of their fertility journey. We furthermore hold support groups for patients and encourage nutrition and lifestyle optimization in addition to the use of alternative therapies such as acupuncture to help enhance patient quality of life during their treatment.

Can you share any notable achievements or success stories from your center in helping patients achieve their family-building goals?

While it’s tough to pick out individual stories since we’ve had so many varied patients achieving their reproductive goals, two examples very well illustrate our special approach at GENESIS:

One was a patient in her late 30s with a low egg count who was told at prior centers that she needed to immediately proceed to IVF which she was opposed to doing. After meeting with me, I recommended she try a more conservative treatment since she otherwise had no other issues. Furthermore, I stressed to her that a low egg count does not predict the chance of pregnancy. Lo-and-behold, she rapidly conceived with the milder treatment and with maximum peace-of-mind. Amazing what some confident reassurance can do.

Another was a patient in her early 40s with a low ovarian reserve who insisted on not using donor eggs. Despite the difficulty of her situation, we emphasized that so long as it was safe for her to do IVF we would support her wishes and proceed with more cycles. Eventually after many cycles and a lot of determination, we landed on a good egg, that became a great embryo, and is now her gorgeous baby girl.

What are your aspirations for the future of your center and the field of reproductive medicine as a whole?

Simply put, we want to continue being the most-patient centered fertility center in all of New York City and we want to reach out to patients well beyond the metropolitan area. As for reproductive medicine, we are going to see many breakthroughs in the next 5-10 years that will widely expand our capabilities and our success rates. The breakthroughs will range from a better understanding of ovarian biology to obtaining more eggs to implantation biology so that we can nearly guarantee pregnancy with each embryo. Furthermore, advances in computing and artificial intelligence will rapidly expand our efficiency as a field and only accelerate our success rates.

I strongly emphasize to patients that during treatment, they should not let the treatment consume their life. Maintaining their quality of life is important. If a patient wants to do a weekend trip or a fun work-out class during treatment, they should certainly do so. The happier a patient feels, the better their treatment goes, simple as that.
