Let’s dive in to learn more about Louise’s journey to wellness.

Briefly tell us about yourself and shed some light on your journey as a Chiropractor and Owner of Attend2Health.

After graduating from the University of South Wales in 2004, I started a clinic with a friend in Birmingham. Simultaneously, I also held a chair at the British Chiropractic Association’s (BCA) Council and became a Fellow of the BCA.

A few years later, I had relocated to Buntingford with my husband, Dominic. I found a shop up for rent on Buntingford High Street in 2007 and thought it would make a good clinic. Gradually, the number of practitioners that I had at the clinic grew. In September 2020, I was struck by an opportunity to relocate the clinic to more extensive premises, but it was a scary time as the global tragedy hit the ground. However, I decided to move to the newer location as more space meant more practitioners could work together.

Tell us about the core services that you provide at Attend2Health. What is the perspective behind considering these services as part of Attend2Health? How do you ensure that you follow an evidence-based approach when serving patients?

One of the main areas that Attend2Health addresses is musculoskeletal pain. By having Chiropractors, Osteopaths and Physiotherapists there is a wealth of knowledge to use to help the patient. We can also address their mental health with a Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. It is a one-stop shop for healthcare.

In addition, Attend2Health also conducts several wellness interventions such as Pilates, Yoga, Indian Head Massage, Tai Chi, Fitness and Rehabilitation. Once a patient is in less pain and is improving, part of their rehabilitation could include going to a pilates class or learning Tai Chi. Tai Chi is very good at helping someone relax and is a very gentle exercise.

In what way do you consider technological advances to be a pathway in conducting your operations?

Attend2Health allows patients to book online with quite a few of the practitioners. Its private GP uses a lot of technology, including PRP to help with hair loss and Therma Vein to get rid of blemishes on the face.

What endeavors are you currently pursuing to improve your service measures for healthcare clients?

We are currently expanding the number of treatment rooms we have by doing up one of the rooms upstairs and are looking at the possibility of taking on more practitioners, such as a speech and language therapist. We are also looking at doing more courses at the clinic.

What are some of the challenges you face when conducting your day-to-day responsibilities at Attend2Health? How do you turn them into opportunities for growth?

By running such a large building, we do have the challenge of high heating costs. Each radiator has a thermostat on it, so the radiators are only on when someone is in the room. We are also putting in some secondary glazing at the front to limit heat loss.

What advice would you like to give to budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who desire to venture into the healthcare sector?

A piece of advice that I’d like to give to budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who desire to venture into the healthcare sector is—as with any business—it is essential to research and have a business plan. This ensures that you can afford the rent and other costs associated with running a business, as it is surprising how they all add up.

What are some of the testimonials or recognition that accurately highlight your position in the market? (If available/permissible).

“I went to see a chiropractor for back pain. The staff were lovely and very attentive. I was made to feel welcome and at ease right away. Very thorough, and as I required a second appointment within a week, the lovely, helpful staff squeezed me in at the end of the day and stayed a little later. I would recommend it.”

– Krystle Turrell

“Hurt back and a hectic week coming up and didn’t need backache; Louise saw me very promptly, and then by Rhiannon, they both got me upright and walking very quickly, very prompt first appointment and lots of advice.”

– Joanne Shaw
