Sexual health and dysfunction- a topic that not too many agree to discuss, yet one that shapes the well-being of individuals and relationships alike. Some people might hide, not talk about, and ignore these challenges, leading to feelings of frustration, guilt, and emotional distance. Nevertheless, for those who are ready to confront these obstacles head-on, individuals like Martina Somorjai are transforming the field with bravery, empathy, and innovative logically built-up solutions.

In 2024, Martina coined the term “Potencyologist®” to represent her innovative approach to sexology and treating sexual dysfunction, making her the first to do so. Somorjai Martinaa Potency Expert Sexologist focuses on both physical and emotional barriers to help people enjoy satisfying sexual lives. By combining science and empathy, she has assisted numerous people in rebuilding trust and intimacy in their relationships. In 2024, Martina Somorjai was honored with the Female Golden Professional Excellence Award in Health, a recognition that solidified her reputation as a trailblazer in sexology. This accolade underscored her groundbreaking contributions to the field, offering hope and innovative solutions to individuals facing challenges such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and porn addiction.

Let’s dive into how Martina Somorjai’s journey and approach have reshaped the conversation on sexual wellbeing!

The Path to Becoming a Potencyologist

Martina’s journey into sexual well-being was fueled by an innate urge to solve problems and ease suffering. She recalls, “I always liked to help people. The reason is that I feel inner pain if I see anyone suffering. Sex seemed to be the easiest field of problem-solving, so I chose the easy path.” For her sex was a natural topic—one that didn’t carry the same taboos it does for many others. She recognized early on that her healthy, open-minded approach to sexuality was not universal, and it became her mission to bridge that gap.

As she delved deeper into the world of sexology, Martina Somorjai found that the results she achieved were often swift and profound. Her superpower, as she calls it, lay in her ability to quickly identify the root causes of erectile dysfunction and provide actionable solutions. This led her to develop a specialized online potency enhancer program for erectile dysfunction, called PoP Potency Program, a decision that came from both necessity and empathy.

Pioneering Online Sex Therapy

One of the most significant challenges Martina Somorjai faced in her career was the overwhelming demand for her expertise. By 2018, she was working with a waiting list that stretched as long as six months. The prospect of a couple on the brink of separation having to wait that long for help was unacceptable to her. “I sensed the desperation of those calling me by phone for an appointment when they heard about the waiting list,” she explains. This realization sparked the idea for her online self-sex therapy method, which allows individuals to work through their issues immediately, anonymously and at their own pace.

The online platform also addressed another major barrier: the reluctance of men to open up in a traditional sex therapy setting. Many of Martina’s clients struggled with feelings of shame and embarrassment, especially when their sexual problems had persisted for years. By offering sex therapy through video calls, phone or email or chat consultations, sometimes even completely anonymous sessions, she removed the need for her clients to confront their fears face-to-face. “Despite all these circumstances I created for my clients to feel at their ease, many of them just could not take this step. Then I understood that I can have one real solution: the self-sex therapy.”

Her approach has been highly effective, especially in addressing erectile dysfunction (ED). Through years of therapy, Martina Somorjai identified more than 40 root causes of ED and developed techniques that could be tailored to the individual needs of each client. Her methods combine psychical, spiritual insights with practical guidance, creating a holistic approach that addresses not just the symptoms but also the underlying causes.

A Breakthrough in Potency Solutions

Martina Somorjai’s work has not gone unnoticed. In 2019, she was invited to lecture on handling porn addiction at a sex therapist conference, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, she presented her findings on the effectiveness of online therapies at the Pszichoterapia journal’s online conference. She presented successful case studies of PIED, the erectile dysfunction caused by porn addition. Her research into erectile dysfunction culminated in a presentation at the Professors for European Hungary Conference in 2024, where she unveiled her PoP Potency Program©, a comprehensive method that targets both the physical and emotional aspects of sexual dysfunction. She recalls the event with pride, noting that her lecture was well-received, and her philosophy on sex therapy was embraced even in the face of conventional audiences.

Her philosophy challenges conventional medicine by emphasizing the relational aspects of sexual dysfunction. “Erectile dysfunction cannot be understood in itself. That is why it does not belong to medicine,” she argues. For her, sexual health is about more than just the body—it’s about the connections between people, and the emotional and mindly actors that play into intimate relationships.

Tackling Today’s Common Sexual Problems

Martina Somorjai’s experience has given her deep insights into the most common sexual problems faced by men and women today. Premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, and porn addiction are the top issues she addresses with men. Couples, on the other hand, frequently deal with a lack of lust, and communication breakdowns around sex.

When it comes to PIED treatment, she emphasizes the importance of addressing one issue at a time. “They have to choose which they want to solve first, as both cannot go simultaneously. They just contradict,” she explains. For example, raising a man’s libido through erectile dysfunction therapy can complicate efforts to overcome a porn addiction. She advises her clients based on her expertise but ultimately leaves the decision in their hands, ensuring they feel in control of their healing process.

Her treatment methods are as diverse as her clients. Rather than following a rigid protocol, Martina Somorjai relies on her intuition and adapts her techniques to the individual. “All individuals need special treatments. I am not using a pattern, although it would facilitate my job. I rather trust my gut feelings, my inspirations which I get during a sex therapy.”

The Role of Education and Empowerment

In addition to her sexual counselling work, Martina Somorjai has authored several books, including How to Deal with Porn Addiction and Penis Stimulation and Cougar Pampering Tricks. Her books offer practical advice not just for individuals struggling with porn addiction or sexual dysfunction, but also for their partners and caregivers. Her approach to porn addiction, in particular, focuses on reframing the way people engage with it. “Porn or other passions are not harmful if used in normal quantity and if understood that things seen on the scene are not real—just a tale.”

She is also a firm believer in the importance of community involvement as a counterbalance to selfishness, which she identifies as the root cause of many modern addictions. By encouraging her clients to focus on others, whether through volunteering or acts of kindness, she helps them break free from the cycle of self-absorption that often accompanies addiction.

Overcoming the Stigma

Despite the significant progress Martina Somorjai has made in the field of sexual health, the stigma surrounding it remains a challenge. Many individuals hesitate to seek help, either out of shame or a belief that their problems will resolve on their own. To them, she offers straightforward advice: “The latter you turn to help, the more difficult your situation will probably be. As you grow old, your problems will multiply.”

Her consultations, which can be as brief as 20 minutes, provide an opportunity for people to test the waters and see if therapy is right for them. With her expertise and compassionate approach, she continues to change lives, one conversation at a time. She encourages those struggling with sexual problems to take the first step toward getting better, reminding them that neglecting these issues is no different than ignoring any other aspect of their well-being. In 2024, as sexual awareness becomes an increasingly critical component of overall well-being, Martina Somorjai stands at the forefront, offering hope, solution, and a path to a more fulfilling life.

A Golden Achievement

One of the most significant recognitions of her career came in 2024 when she was awarded the Female Golden Professional Excellence Award in Health. This accolade was a testament to the impact of her work, particularly her ability to offer groundbreaking solutions in a field that remains stigmatized.
