Pfizer Vaccine Triggers
Researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine revealed that the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine triggers a powerful response in the human body against coronavirus. The brief research about it was published in the science journal – Nature.
The research was carried out on 56 volunteers, where scientists collected blood samples to study the immune response. They measured antibodies as well as immune-signaling proteins and the genomic expression of 242,479 different immune cell types.
After analyzing the data, researchers found that the second shot of the vaccine increased more antibodies than that of the first and mobilized a special group of immune cells. These cells increase in the body after the infection of coronavirus too but in the case of the second dose, they rise over 100 times in terms of their presence in the blood.
