Varsa, can you share your journey and what inspired you to start Varshaj Healthcare Solutions?
In my family, whoever visited any hospital encountered issues such as misdiagnosis, communication errors, diagnostic errors, incorrect medication prescriptions, patient identification errors, changes in operative plans without relative consent, and repercussions of family planning initiatives in early 90s India.
After hands-on experience with mistakes and medical errors in the healthcare delivery system, I decided to support healthcare providers by implementing quality standards. I believe that no healthcare professional intends to harm patients, but the result of one misdiagnosis led to suffering for 50 years.
Varshaj Healthcare Solutions was founded in 2015, based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Gradually, our global client base increased, and we started supporting clients not only in India but also across the GCC, UK, and other regions.
Our vision at Varshaj Healthcare Solutions is to improve the quality of care provided in healthcare organizations. Our mission is to support healthcare professionals in enhancing the quality of care provided by avoiding instances of patient harm.

We differentiate from competitors as our focus is patient safety and improving the services provided by the client organizations manpower. We monitor the practices followed with reference to the standards and policies. Our team comprises qualified, experienced and trained healthcare professionals who want to focus on patient safety and understand healthcare practices and standards prevalent internationally.
We provide the lifetime services for the project is initiated, with nominal fee we continue to monitor the services once the project has achieved the desired result, though the process is followed for each patient by different staff, so monitoring is required.
What challenges have you faced in the healthcare consulting industry, and how have you overcome them?

- Attrition of staff due to misbehaviour of clients
For Ex. When my auditor identifies the gap in clinical practices like, missed diagnosis, adverse drug reaction, patient identification error while drug administration, missed to prescribe the required medications, etc. medical team feels offended and misbehaves with my team member instead of accepting mistakes and improve upon.
How do you ensure that your consulting services align with the evolving needs of healthcare providers?
We always send our team to participate in various conferences worldwide and learn the evolving practices like AI in healthcare. We perform market research and our trainees every year perform the feasibility studies to understand the evolving needs, as every year we add new services as we recently added the feature of manpower support from various countries to the client organizations.
Can you discuss a successful project or case study where your solutions significantly improved a client’s operations?
Implementation of Electronic Health Record to reduce paper consumption by 80% and real time documentation by 70% and reduction in medical errors related to documentation / transcription by 60%.
What role does technology play in your consulting services, and how do you incorporate it into your strategies?
The use of data analytics tools allows consultants to process vast amounts of data to uncover patterns and insights that were previously inaccessible. AI technologies, including machine learning and natural language processing, have given rise to intelligent systems that can perform tasks ranging from data analysis with minimal human intervention. The adoption of digital platforms has facilitated seamless communication and project management across global teams. Our staff and clients prefer using the latest technology to stay ahead in this competitive world.
We have experienced transformation in decision making due to predictive data analysis and data visualization.
How do you measure the success of your consulting engagements with healthcare organizations?
We do measure our success in financial metrics like profit margins, operating margins and other KPI, along with the increasing number of clients. Our client satisfaction and reduction in number of errors or preventing the patient harms instances is our achievement.
We will not prefer such statistics which if known to the public they may not have confidence while stepping into the healthcare organizations, but near misses is our success but that doesn’t mean that healthcare professionals are regularly.

We always believe in technological advancement, and the future trends of wearables, telehealth and AI may give real time monitoring and predictive data analysis will help in reducing the instances of patient harm.

Hard work, understanding of the subject, timely and clear communication is the only key for success along with patience.
