Health Maintenance Organizations
(HMOs): HMOs require you to choose a primary care doctor who will coordinate your care.
Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs): PPOs allow you to see any doctor or hospital that you choose.
Exclusive Provider Organizations (EPOs): EPOs are similar to HMOs, but they do not allow you to see out-of-network doctors or hospitals at all.
