WHO’s Chief Scientist Saumya Swaminathan alerts against Covid 19 ‘Mix and Match’ Approach

WHO

A scientist from World Health Organization Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, WHO chief scientist, warned against mixing and matching of Covid 19 vaccine samples.

Mixed vaccine regimes refer to various vaccine manufacturers, like Pfizer and AstraZeneca, or vice versa.

“It’s a little bit of a dangerous trend here,” Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, WHO chief scientist, said during a rundown. “We’re in a data-free, evidence-free zone as far as mix and match.”

She stated that the studies are going on but the early findings from Oxford university in which the researchers found the mixed vaccine samples scheduled of oxfords co-developed Astra Zeneca followed by a Pfizer vaccine ‘induced higher antibodies and T-cell responses,’ than the reverse order.
