WHO will be conducting an emergency meeting on 23rd June. The agenda of the meeting is to access the gravity of the sudden outbreak of monkeypox. In the meeting members of WHO will decide whether it is the next pandemic.

The virus has already 3,417 active cases in 58 countries. It is expanding rapidly throughout the countries. The virus monkeypox and smallpox came from the same virus family called Orthopox Virus.

World Health Network (WHN) has already announced Monkeypox as a pandemic. WHN said efforts for multiple countries are essential to prevent widespread harm like “COVID-19.”

Yaneer Bar-Yam, the WHN Co-founder said: “There is no justification to wait for the monkeypox pandemic to grow further. The best time to act is now. By taking immediate action, we can control the outbreak with the least effort, and prevent consequences from becoming worse.”
