The day’s purpose is to educate the public about Parkinson’s disease and its effects and to assist and support Parkinson’s patients.

On April 11, World Parkinson’s Day is observed annually to commemorate Dr. James Parkinson’s birthday. In 1817, he published an article titled “An Essay on the Shaking Palsy,” which established Parkinson’s disease as a medical condition.

A neurodegenerative disease known as Parkinson’s affects the nervous system. Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative sickness that influences the neurological framework. It is more common in older people but can also affect younger people under 50.

Over 10 million people worldwide have Parkinson’s, according to the most recent data from the Parkinson’s Foundation.
