Essential workers who were praised for continuing their work in person during the pandemic are now fighting for permanent improvements to their working wages. Most essential workers are even facing burnout since the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
During the pandemic, millions of essential workers were infected by COVID-19. Many lost their lives or their family, friends, neighbors, or colleagues to COVID-19. Many who survived COVID-19 are facing long-term side effects.
Now that the lockdown restrictions have lifted across the U.S. and the economy is coming back to normal, many essential workers are worried about their safety and unhappy with the working wages and conditions.
Now, these essential workers demand a safe working environment and a ‘seat at the table’ where workplace-related decisions are made to make sure that promises made to us are fulfilled.
