“Good health is not something we can buy. However, it can be an extremely valuable savings account.”
- Anne Wilson Schaef
Health is wealth, so goes the adage. Health is the one parameter that every individual needs to take good care of, be it a man or a woman. To state the obvious, men and women are different. Subsequently, women’s healthcare needs are quite unique and demand extra care and attention.
Women experience a multitude of healthcare issues that are specific to them only; from pregnancy and menopause to gynaecology conditions, and even some severe disorders like Turner syndrome, Rett Syndrome, and ovarian and cervical cancers. Sufficed to say that to address to this variety of women-specific conditions optimally, we need healthcare centers specific to women.
Fortunately, there is an innovative company that understands women’s health concerns and the necessity for inclusive care. It’s an honour to introduce breathe ilo GmbH, a tech-driven female health company that provides a holistic women’s health platform.
breathe ilo empowers women to know more about their female cycle. The company’s objective is to help women around the world understand their bodies better which creates a positive impact on their overall health.
In an exclusive interview with Insights Care, Lisa Krapinger, Co-founder and CEO, sheds light on the company’s journey, the current industry scenario, and her vision for the company’s future.

breathe ilo empowers women to know more about their female cycle, which is a major indicator of female health. While a woman can accurately predict her cycle phases, she gets individual insights on what to do with this information and how to reach her goals.
This may be gaining or losing weight, getting better in specific sports classes, or the desire of having children. With the combination of a physical parameter (the CO2 measurements of the breathe ilo device) and the software algorithm, she can live a healthier life and reach her goals faster.
Being an experienced leader, share your opinion on how the adoption of modern technologies like AI and ML is impacting the healthcare industry and how is your company adapting to the change?
In my opinion, AI and ML are absolutely necessary to drive healthcare. It helps us to understand health problems earlier and improves the outcome for the patient. It will not replace real doctors, but it is a crucial tool to leverage healthcare in the future because it solves bottlenecks in the industry. With those tools, we can accelerate patient care and routine workflows with accurate insights.
What would be your advice to budding entrepreneurs who aspire to venture into the healthcare industry?
If you have the passion to do something with impact, and to do something good for the whole society, the healthcare industry is the place to do so. In no other field can you help people so much.
But it needs to be your real passion, and you shouldn’t be afraid of any throwbacks because the studies and the outcome take several years in most cases. So, it needs full commitment for a long period of time to really see change.
How do you envision scaling your company’s operations and offerings in 2022 and beyond?
We are aiming to internationalize our proofed concept from the DACH region to the US. With the right partnerships, we will scale our company’s operations soon.
