Have you ever seen that you look up your symptoms on the Internet, and the results are either bizarre or scary? It indeed has happened to most of us multiple times.
However, with artificial intelligence in place, such situations can be avoided. AI is transforming the healthcare industry in a few profound ways. Likewise, an AI-powered digital nursing assistant provides remote patient monitoring and a better crisis-ridden healthcare system and home health.
Delivering such a contactless monitoring solution, Neteera Technology provides a platform to understand better the possible prediction of a patient’s health status and medical progression.
In an interview with Insights Care, Isaac Litman, the Founder and CEO of Neteera Technology, shares the organization’s inspiring story and how its offers patients monitoring solutions that have positively impacted the healthcare niche.
Below are the highlights:
Isaac, please brief our audience about your company. Kindly tell us the source of inspiration for starting the Patient Monitoring Solution company.
The turning point for founding Neteera in 2015 was that the world was becoming wireless, except for patient care. I wanted to bring the contactless revolution to the health ecosystem. This change will have a significant impact: it will reduce healthcare costs and improve care and patient outcome.
Workflow efficiency for caregivers will also increase significantly. Most importantly, it will dramatically increase patient comfort – patients are not well, and if we can help them without disturbing them and improve care – this would truly be a revolution.
Tell us more about the products that make your company stand out from the competition.
Current solutions lack a frictionless experience for both the patient and clinician, as they often only offer spot checks and require patients to manipulate devices or receive caregiver assistance. Neteera is changing the way we provide care. Our platform provides continuous monitoring and eliminates the need for device manipulation, removal of clothing, caregiver presence, and patient involvement.
Neteera’s technology is a maintenance-free, radar-based solution that does not discriminate against skin color or tone. It is non-intrusive as it does not rely on images and does not compromise patient privacy.
Tell us about your company’s contribution to advance the patient monitoring solution industry. Also, tell us about the latest products developed by your company to fulfill an individual’s fitness goals.
Insights on health trends are only possible with continuous monitoring and providing medical staff with a better understanding and possible prediction of the patients’ health status and medical progression. The patient can be remotely monitored in a home setting, thereby reducing non-urgent doctor visits or hospital re-admissions.
With regards to fitness goals, Neteera will be releasing a sleep analysis feature that will help improve wellness and lifestyle by allowing the users to monitor their wellness status and sleep in a contactless fashion.
Brief our audience about the inspiring journey to start Neteera Technology.
My father was hospitalized for a very long time. Seeing him suffer and connected to so many wires and cables was absolutely devastating. I am convinced that if Neteera’s technology was available then, my father could have led a better quality of life at home and not be all wired up at the hospital. This is so important to patients and their families, and if it comes with a better understanding of the patient’s status – it is a win-win situation.
What is your opinion on the necessity for patient monitoring solution providers to align their offerings with the latest technological advances, especially when it comes to catering to ever-evolving healthcare needs?
Current patient monitoring solutions usually offer spot checks only. They require active patient involvement or a sense of discomfort due to privacy concerns if a camera is involved. Once patient or caregiver involvement is required and the data flow is sketchy, understanding patient status or having a reliable data flow is severely impacted.
Continuous monitoring offers trend analysis since data is constantly collected. This gives tremendous power and insights to providers; they can potentially understand possible exacerbation of the patient’s health state even before actual health deterioration occurs or make sure that the care pathway they choose is working.
In your opinion, what could be the future of the smart health-monitoring devices and apps industry post-pandemic? And how are you strategizing your company’s operations for that future?
Healthcare is transitioning from the traditional health institution to the home in all aspects, whether it is care management, chronic care treatment, or remote patient monitoring. The transition is a win-win situation for all stakeholders: hospital management will save money and resources; caregivers will have clear and better insights regarding their patient’s health and adopt a preventive care approach patients will be cared for from the comfort of their home and can receive the proper guidance in real-time.
As an established leader, what would be your advice to the budding entrepreneurs and enthusiasts aspiring to venture into the patient monitoring solution industry?
Before embarking on such a journey, I believe the best advice I can give is to talk with providers, talk with patients, and discuss with the payers. These discussions should result in a clear product concept. Align your solution in one single offering, ensuring that you balance aspects of the solution for all involved parties (patients, providers, and payers).
How do you envision scaling your company’s services in 2022 and beyond?
We are currently developing additional features such as Bio-ID, sleep detection, and patient behavior monitoring to potentially detect additional clinical issues. These and all future additions will be available on the same product, which is part of our vision – to provide a platform solution that will entail more and more services and features based on software upgrades.
