This Sunday marked the one-year completion of India’s vaccination efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic. During the one year, 156.76 crore vaccine doses were injected into the Indian citizens.

As per the official report of India’s health ministry, over 92 percent of the Indian adult population received at least the first dose of vaccine, and over 68 percent of adults are fully vaccinated during the year. On completion of one year, the Central Government of India will issue the postal stamp to mark the event.

The vaccine drive was started on 16th January last year. During the first phase, India’s health care workers, as well as frontline workers, received their first vaccine dose. India rolled out vaccine coverage as per the seniority and priority basis during the overall one year of the vaccination process.

The health ministry claimed that India has most successfully carried out the vaccination throughout the nation compared to the developed western countries with much less population who got vaccine coverage.
