Pawana was instigated with a humble beginning of 10 bedded hospitals, in February 1997, and today it has grown to over 120 bedded multispecialty hospital. Since then, Pawana is uninterruptedly serving needy patients with the widening domain of services. After this initial momentum, PH introduced ICU services in December 2000 which were inaugurated by Late MP Sunil Dutt, to provide lifesaving facilities to critical patients in remote areas, at affordable costs.

The Able and Experienced Hands behind Pawana
When one talks about ordinary people bringing about change, one cannot afford to miss out on the guiding light of Pawana Hospitals; its Managing Director, Dr. Satyajit Wadhokar. He is the one who single-handedly renewed Maval Taluka in the map of Pune along with the support of his wife Dr. Varsha Wadhokar. Dr. Satyajit has always been inspired by his father Dr. Krishnakant Wadhokar, who works in providing healthcare to the rural and tribal communities of Maval Taluka. He decided to follow his father’s footsteps in very early days of his childhood. After completing his higher secondary education from Wadia College Pune, he completed his graduation from University of Pune in 1986.
After the academics, he turned to get the real hands-on experience in medicine under the guidance and motivation of elite surgeon Dr. Shrinivas Gore (Nana). Dr. Satyajit, an honored captain of the ship offers a blend of the finest medical and surgical skills delivered with compassion, and a patient centric approach. Working on the noble principle of “patient’s interest first”, and with the support of his better half Dr. Varsha Wadhokar, Executive Director who is very much focused on quality health care services, she aimed to provide high-level quality care. Chief Operating Officer of the hospital, Mrs. Revati Mani has a keen eye on the quality & safety concerns of the Hospital.
Following parents footsteps elder son Dr. Pratik is pursuing MD Medicine and younger Dr. Pranav is pursuing MS Surgery.
