The World Health Organization (WHO) announces the setup of a second hub in South Korea to train low and middle-income countries to make COVID-19 vaccines.

During a press conference, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director and General of WHO, stated that the new hub would give workforce training to all countries interested in producing vaccines, insulin, or monoclonal antibodies.

The WHO also announced that its mRNA technology transfer hub in South Africa would assist five more countries: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Serbia, and Vietnam. The WHO stated that nations that do not have mRNA technology but have some manufacturing infrastructure and capacity are currently being prioritized.
