A 21-year-old medical student from Kerala’s Thrissur district, who was India’s first Covid-19 case has tested positive for the virus for the second time.

On Tuesday, District Medical Officer K.J. Reena confirmed it. When the student took a Covid test on July 8 in preparation for a trip to Delhi for academic objectives, she was discovered to be Covid positive. Her RT-PCR result is positive, but she has no symptoms, according to the DMO.

In the last week of January 2020, the woman was with a group of medical students who had returned from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak. She was a third-year medical student at Wuhan University when she tested positive with COVID-19 on January 30, 2020, making her the country’s first COVID-19 case. She was released from the hospital on February 20, 2020, after a negative test.
