The Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine seems comparatively less effective on ongoing Delta variant than the Covid-19.
According to the analysis till the 6th of June, a statement was issued where the Israil government said that 64% of protection was provided by the vaccines against the infection.
Earlier the vaccine was 95.3% effective in the month of May when Alpha variant was dominating, and the Delta variant was about to spread in Israil.
Dr. Ashish Jha, Dean of Brown University’s School of Public Health, cautiously drew conclusions as he tweeted, “Best data still suggest mRNA vaccines offer high degree of protection against infection and superb protection against severe illness. Let’s await more data but as of now, if you’re vaccinated, I wouldn’t worry.”
