The shortage of vaccine is pushing Indian Government to review its policies towards the Moderna vaccines. The US Government demanded modification of the agreement. If these demands are entertained, seven million doses of Moderna vaccine may travel to India. Though it will be a minuscule looking at the Indian population.
India’s drug regulator already granted the permission to Cipla for importing the donated doses of Moderna mRNA vaccines. On the other hand, US holds the rigid demand for refining the words in the agreement.
In response, Indian government is more likely to accept the demands, considering the over dependency on the limited vaccine supply.
