Oxford coronavirus vaccine trial data to be released on Monday

Oxford coronavirus vaccine trial

Oxford Corona Vaccine Trial

Early-stage human clinical trial results on the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University will be released on July 20, according to the Lancet Medical Journal. The Oxford vaccine candidate is currently in large-scale Phase III clinical trials in Brazil to determine how it will defend against COVID-19, but its researchers are yet to announce the findings of Phase I.

The Lancet statement came after news said that Phase I data could be published as early as Thursday.

Developers of Oxford vaccine AZD1222 said earlier this month that they were inspired by the immune reaction they had seen in the trials so far and planned to report Phase 1 results by the end of July.

More than 100 vaccines are being created and tested around the world to try to combat the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected more than 1.35 crore people and taken more than 5.8 lakh lives.

Scientists in the United States announced on Tuesday that Moderna Inc’s experimental vaccine revealed that it was effective and induced immune responses in all 45 healthy volunteers in the ongoing early-stage trial.
