4 Ways to Boost your Immune System against Coronavirus.

A virus that has now been officially declared as a Pandemic, had emerged just last December. Coronavirus has majorly affected the world and its economic growth. It has affected millions world wide and has now created a panorama of worldwide panic and chaos. For most of the cases, the disease is mild and recoverable, while for the others it is severe and extremely severe.

How does this COVID-19 affect humans?

The Coronavirus, technically known as SARS-CoV-2, is not an airborne virus and spread via touch and breath. This virus directly affects the lungs and stimulates the formation of even larger colonies of the virus. This virus attaches to the throat mucus lining and travels to the lungs from there. The major symptoms for the detection of the virus are those of Cough, cold and fever. The incubation period for the virus is 15 to 20 days with a minimum of 5 days. This indicates that those who do not show any symptoms of the virus, maybe the carriers for the same.

The most urging question that befalls is , How to improve one’s immune system to prevent from falling prey?

Due the precarious nature of the disease, Doctors all over the world have been spreading the message of self-care and ways how to reduce exposure to the virus. But, the most important tip is that of boosting your immune system. Naturally, every human body has an immune system that has been built to keep disease at bay. But, unfortunately the immune system could be weakened due to numerous sources. The addiction to junk or unhealthy food and complete lack of exercise could hamper the immune system.

There are 6 ways to boost the Immune system:

1.       Reduce unwarranted stress

Stress is an unwanted guest most of us have dealt with. Whenever one is stressed, the body produces stress hormones, which again meddle with the immune system. Well, this is easier said than done. Though there are various methods that could at least minimise the stress. Maintaining work-life balance, taking breaks, talking to friends or loved ones, practising self-meditation, are a few to name some.

2.       Consuming Vitamins

To boost one’s immunity, one needs to be replenished by fruits, nuts and other healthy munchies. Immunity supporting fruits are those that are rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Vitamin D, etc. Maintaining healthy eating habits for overall health are essential and should be inculcated as a healthy habit.

3.       Sleeping when tired

The body functions all day long and it needs to rest sometimes. This generation is addicted to caffein and does not realise how tired they actually are. Sleeping is an essential factor for humans, as it gives the struggling immune system. One should allow one’s body to rest efficiently.

4.       Avoid toxins and intensive exercise

Toxins are as it is harmful for the body. Mycotoxins are notoriously damaging to the immune system. Not just these, there are numerous other wild strains of toxins that are detrimental to human health. Avoiding food additives, aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated drinks and other such sources or toxins could help keep up the immune strength. Exercise is essential for the body, when done in the right amounts. Intensive exercise causes a lot of wear and tear that the body may not be able to withstand and the immune system might break down.
