A report from Lancet co-authored by WHO chief scientist says that there is currently no need for a booster dose for individuals who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease. It suggests that people who are fully inoculated continue to be protected even against the Delta variant of COVID-19.
The report also says that the remaining supply of the booster dose will be far more beneficial to people who have not been vaccinated at all against the virus.
Earlier the World Health Organisation had put a temporary embargo on the circulation of the booster dose till the vaccines reach more people around the globe.
