On Tuesday the UK advisory expert panel recommended that a booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccination should be given to people aged over 50 years, people with comorbidities, people with underlying health conditions, frontline healthcare workers, and adult carers.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) suggested that booster shots must be offered to people who were at high risk of serious illness and people who were vaccinated during the first phase of the vaccination programme. The Panel recommended that people receive their booster shot after six months of their second dose of COVID vaccination.
