With the rise in corona cases, India has become the epicenter of the second wave of COVID-19. However, the recent reports from across the world show that India is not the only country experiencing a rise in COVID cases.

As per the recent data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, from Nepal to Argentina, many countries have reported a record rise in COVID-19 cases in the past few weeks.

Director-general of World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed the concerns on the matter. He said while the COVID situation in India is highly concerning, more countries have emergency needs to control the spread of the virus.

The uneven distribution of COVID-19 vaccines across the world is among the major reasons that have increased COVID-19 cases in several countries. While developed countries such as the U.K. and the U.S. are ahead in vaccination drives, other poorer countries in Africa as well as a part of Asia lagging in vaccinating their population due to shortage of vaccine supply.

Apart from India Argentina, Nepal, Bahrein, and Taiwan are some countries that are facing a severe rise in COVID-19 cases.
