At an annual conference of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), evidence was presented virtually to the audience suggesting a more appropriate, protective response to the COVID-19 vaccination. It further suggested that a booster shot of the vaccination will provide added protection to this section of the population.

791 cancer patients were enrolled in different hospitals in the Netherlands in four districts by researchers in four separate support groups to measure their response to Moderna’s two-dose vaccines. The study explored the probable effect of chemotherapy and immunotherapy on the protection provided by the COVID-19 vaccination.
